Vedanta Chairman Announces about deal with Foxconn Taiwanese company, for production of glass display and semiconductor in India

Vedanta and Taiwanese Foxconn, which held chats with the state to set up its new semiconductor plant, MoU with Gujarat government on Tuesday to locate its venture there.


The organizations' discussions with the Maharashtra government were 'practically last' when its senior authorities met CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy Cheif Minister Devendra Fadnavis in July 2022.


Officials from the state's Ventures office said the organization leaders had settled more than 1,000 acres of land in Talegaon Phase IV.


Vedanta has collaborated with Foxconn through a 60:40 joint dare to set up a integrated display and semiconductor fabrication environment in India.


Foxconn is known for making gathering units for electronic gadgets, including yet not restricted to cell phones.


One of the objectives of the Project is to make India self sufficient in electronics hardware, through extension of its presence across the value chain.


The undertaking was assessed to carry near Rs 26,200 crore SGST, 80,000 to 1,00,000 direct & Indirect openings, $21 billion direct and $5-8 billion investments, helping the state's GDP development


Around 150+ organizations across the worth chain would have benefited, making 70,000 to 1,00,000 immediate and INDIRECT positions.
